Agilent Technologies, CST Announce Exclusive Alliance to Bring 3D EM Simulation Technology to the Mainstream
Integrated Capabilities to Simplify Design Flow, Speed Characterization of
Wireless, Wireline Designs
June 8 2004, CST- Computer Simulation Technology, Darmstadt and Mician, Bremen have signed an agreement enabling the further expansion and interoperability of links between CST’s design environment and other EDA simulation solutions. This latest agreement further promotes CST’s aim to combine best-in-class solutions for the design engineers’ benefit. Users of CST DESIGN STUDIO™ (CST DS) will have optional access to a subset of µWave Wizard™’s fully parametric mode matching components (in particular rectangular waveguide steps, t-junctions and bends). A migration path from the CST DS subset to full µWave Wizard™ functionality will be available.
CST- Computer Simulation Technology previews new version of CST MICROWAVE STUDIO®.
After the successful release of CST MICROWAVE STUDIO® v5.0 (CST MWS), which provided design engineers with over 1300 functional changes implemented since the release of version 4, CST continues its policy of providing significant enhancements to CST MWS’ functionality between major updates.
Users of CST STUDIO products are invited to join the CST User Workshop at MTT-S in Fort Worth, Texas.
You will have the opportunity to converse face to face with our simulation experts during this intensive technical session. In the course of the workshop, you will learn about the latest features and future development plans of CST MWS as well as how to use our simulators for numerous applications.
The CST team would like to invite you to attend our Introductory Workshop Session at MTT-S International Microwave Symposium 2004 in Fort Worth, Texas.
You will have the opportunity to converse face to face with our simulation experts during this intensive technical session. In the course of the workshop, you will learn about CST MWS' most important features, watch live demonstrations and advanced benchmark presentations.
A free 30 day trial licence of the software will be available for interested workshop participants.
Two new training centres have been opened by CST in China: at the Harbin Institute of Technology (May 10th 2004) and Beijing Institute of Technology (May 14th 2004).
"This reflects CST's commitment to providing chinese users with comprehensive, rapid, and outstanding training and technical support services" commented Dr. Min Zhang, Technical Sales Manager for China.
The CST user group meeting offers an informal and enlightening environment where RF & microwave design engineers using members of the CST STUDIO software family can exchange ideas and talk with CST staff about future developments.
2003 saw the first ever CST University Publication Award. Competing were papers authored or co-authored by academic researchers, published either in scientific journals or in conference proceedings, and whose numerical results were entirely or in part obtained through simulation using CST software products.
Submissions were evaluated on a number of criteria including originality of the application or of the theory, clarity of presentation, as well as the skillful usage of the CST software features.
After much consideration, 4 papers were selected for the
Each prize consists of a one year free upgrade of the existing CST software license. Abstracts and full references are available from CST’s website: www.cst.com.

During a workshop organised by APLAC Solutions and CST Dr. Marko Walter presented the newest developments of CST's simulation packages to an interested auditorium of 30 researchers and engineers. One of the main points has been the direct link between circuit- and 3D EM simulation and the efficient embedding of a 3D field solver into an existing design enviroment.
