Darmstadt, Germany, February 1st 2008, Computer Simulation Technology (CST) announces it has completed the acquisition of the Flomerics electromagnetics simulation software business including MicroStripes and FLO/EMC.
The acquisition of the business line was closed as planned on January 31st 2008, including the transfer of EM technology.
“We are thrilled with this acquisition,” commented Dr. Bernhard Wagner, Managing Director, CST. “Both the new technology and people really complement CST’s existing business, and the synergies will certainly benefit both current and future customers.”
December 21st, 2007 – Computer Simulation Technology (CST), announces winners of CST University Publication Award 2007 .
The CST University Publication Award is an annual grant to university institutes and researchers for their work in the application of 3D EM field simulation. Now in this its fourth year, the quality of the publications was outstanding. Prerequisites for participation are that the papers are authored or co-authored by academic researchers, published either in scientific journals or conference proceedings, and the numerical results are entirely or in part obtained through simulation using CST software products. Submissions are evaluated on a number of criteria including originality of the application or the theory, clarity of presentation, as well as the skilful usage of CST software features.
DARMSTADT, Germany, 20 December 2007, Computer Simulation Technology (CST) announces the acquisition of the Flomerics electromagnetics simulation software business including MicroStripes and FLO/EMC with effect from 1 January 2008.
Through this acquisition, CST will gain complementary EM technology for its customers; of particular interest is the transmission line matrix (TLM) method, as an alternative Time Domain approach. Furthermore, Flomerics’ strong position in the emc market and related specialised product features will offer new possibilities to CST’s users, also operating in this market.
CST - Computer Simulation Technology announces its new product release CST STUDIO SUITE™ version 2008 is now shipping. CST STUDIO SUITE™ offers RF & microwave, SI and EMC engineers considerable product to market advantages such as shorter development cycles, virtual prototyping before physical trials, and optimization instead of experimentation. Version 2008 promises users significant enhancements, particularly in the critical areas of workflow integration and performance.
CST of America®, Inc. announces the 5th North American Users' Forum to be held February 4th 2008 in Santa Clara, CA. The conference will provide an opportunity for users of CST’s products to present and discuss their work to a wide audience of interested parties.

Computer Simulation Technology (CST) announces the acquisition of the LINMIC software package, including source code and all IP rights.
LINMIC is an EM based and layout oriented EDA software package which has been developed since the early 1980ties by Dr. Rolf Jansen, currently professor at Aachen University of Technology, and further developed and supported by AC Microwave GmbH. The design suite consists of several solver engines for MW+RF/IC linear and non-linear circuits, planar EM, device modelling, and coaxial structures, and is known for having robust HF circuit models that are valid for a large frequency range. LINMIC also contains a number of exceptional features such as distributed device modelling and the accurate analysis of high power transistors.
Computer Simulation Technology (CST) announces further acceleration boost for the upcoming version 2008 of its market and technology leading Time Domain solver within CST MICROWAVE STUDIO® (CST MWS) through Acceleware’s new ClusterInABox™ D30.
RF design engineers involved in the electromagnetic design and optimization of complex or electrically larger passive components, as well as those interested in signal integrity or electromagnetic compatibility effects, can now take advantage of the performance gained by the combination of the simulation accuracy of CST’s proprietary Perfect Boundary Approximation (PBA)® and Acceleware’s new ClusterInABox™ D30.
Computer Simulation Technology GmbH (CST), and SimLab Software GmbH (SimLab) today announce the signing of a participation and cooperation agreement. By this agreement: CST has acquired a stake in SimLab; joint research and development activities will become more intense; and the two companies will work together more closely in the area of sales and marketing.
Design engineers interested in SI/PI and EMC/EMI effects will profit from this cooperation through increased intensity in SimLab’s product development and support. In addition, the agreement will facilitate the smooth integration of SimLab’s cutting edge tools with CST’s full wave analysis.
CST welcomed over 40 Signal- and Power-Integrity engineers to the "EDA goes 3D" workshop held on June the 27th in Santa Clara, California.
During this event, applications such as multilayer printed circuit boards (PCBs), IC packaging, LTCC transitions were examined, and the application of 3D EM simulation discussed.
"We are pleased with the resonance of this workshop. It clearly shows the demand for 3D simulation in this industry and the acceptance of CST’s solutions," commented one of the organizers Dr. Antonio Ciccomancini Scogna. This workshop was the second in its series.
